Tinashe Blanchet’s job is to make learning math fun. If you just groaned or rolled your eyes at that statement, you helped prove her point.

Tinashe is a former high school math teacher with over 15 years of experience in education and teacher training. She is now a Google for Education Certified Innovator and Trainer who travels around the United States to train hundreds of teachers on using technology to enhance their instruction. She is also a member of the leadership teams of the Louisiana Google Educator Group and EdCamp New Orleans. In 2014, Tinashe founded The Learning Laboratory New Orleans, a non-profit organization committed to offering high-quality nontraditional programs for K-12 students at a reasonable cost for parents. The Learning Lab seeks to inspire and excite students in ways that they may never experience in a traditional school environment with hands-on activities, projects, technology explorations, field trips and travel. The Learning Lab also empowers passionate educators who want to improve their practice and stay abreast of the latest trends in education by offering free and low-cost professional development for K-12 teachers.

In addition to running the Lab, Tinashe serves as a principal consultant for Blanchet & Associates, a boutique firm that provides schools and educational organizations with services including, but not limited to: edtech support and training, teacher coaching and mentorship and keynote speaking for educational events. She is also a national presenter for the Bureau of Education and Research, the largest provider of teacher professional development in North America, and EdTechTeam, a Google for Education partner and host of Global Summits featuring Google For Education. With a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Tinashe also teaches practicing educators at Tulane University in New Orleans.
